The Engineering Challenge
The retirement office used paper and spreadsheets for decades. Staff spent every day answering walk-ins asking about loan balances. Spreadsheet uploads kept breaking due to merged cells and formatting errors. Past loan records even broke the university's own rules.
The Architectural Solution
I built a Next.js admin portal and designed the React Native mobile app. The system checks loan limits against employee equity. It also imports messy spreadsheets safely using pattern-matching anchors.
Core Technical & Architectural Highlights
Fault-Tolerant Excel Importer
Solved the transition from messy Excel files to a live database. Uses regex pattern anchoring to survive shifted headers and merged cells, validating paired employee/employer rows before saving.
Automated Equity Gating
Calculates available equity before approving loans. Enforces the rule that members must pay 50% of an emergency loan before getting another.
Secure Mobile API
Connects the mobile app to the backend using secure API keys, OTP registration, and 6-digit PIN login.
Agentic AI Pair Programming & Antigravity Acceleration
Used a Plan-Act-Verify workflow with AI to redesign the UI across four versions. Tested tricky loan calculation edge cases before writing the code.
